Welcome Refresh Mobile

When: July 7th, 2011 – 7:30PM
Where: University of Miami Coral Gables, LC 110, Coral Gables, Florida
Please RSPV here >

We believe that mobile is a new frontier in human-computer interactions. We believe that mobile makes possible things that have never been possible before, and we believe that this creates opportunity.

Refresh Mobile is a new Refresh event aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs who are as excited as we are about these opportunities. We will discuss topics such as finding and evaluating ideas, cost-effective development strategies, user acquisition and monetization, to name a few.

This month, we are happy to welcome Carlos M Icaza, co-founder of Ansca, makers of the Corona SDK, a hugely popular framework for rapid game/app development for both iOS and Android devices.

Carlos has more than 20 years of engineering and management experience, including managing various teams behind highly visible products at Adobe. He was also responsible for creating and developing Adobe’s entire mobile authoring strategy, now deployed across the entire Adobe Creative Suite.

Today, Carlos describes himself as the “co-founder, and Chief this that and the other” at Ansca Inc. He has spent the last year meeting with top tier VC firms and raising capital for Ansca – they successfully closed a $1.5 million series A round from Merus Capital.

Carlos will tell us about using Corona for iPhone and Android app development, and also about his views on entrepreneurship.
